Ellis J. Juan: «Technology will help us tackle citizen participation «

By  | 2016

Ellis J. Juan from the Inter-American Development Bank analyses the current situation in accessing financial markets to make good use of technologies. The migration from traditional ways of urban managements to smart ways, its challenges and possible solutions, represents itself a challenge in Latinamerica. The solutions of the challenges have a geographical flavour: waste, mobility, public space, security, governance, etc.

Ellis J. Juan approaches the future optimistically since he believes that technology will play an important role in terms of citizen participation and this will benefit governance.

Ellis assumed in 2012 the role of General Coordinator of the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Emerging and Sustainable Cities Initiative (ESCI). He previously served as the IDB Country Representative in Mexico between 2008 and 2012.
